Our goal is to create natural looking golf courses with a links touch; timeless classics that fit the terrain as if they have always existed. The indigenous character of the links courses makes them not only appear a natural part of the landscape, but also allows them to function as a sustainable part of the ecosystem. Our approach has garnered national environmental acclaim, including the coveted Audubon International Signature Status Award at Stevinson Ranch, the fourth Audubon Signature course in the country.

In addition, we have successfully designed new and remodeled projects on a variety of environmentally sensitive sites from rare wildlife habitats and former landfills to natural lava fields. Our proven methods consistently encourage cooperation and teamwork

We are classicists. We undertake each and every remodeling project with the utmost care and respect for the history of the course and the intent of the original designers. Serious consideration is given to the question of renovation versus restoration. There is much to be preserved on “Golden Age” courses and we feel it important to honor their past when making improvements for play and maintenance. We never try to place our signature on the design, but rather enhance its best design features and meld with the character that already exists. To our credit are completed restorations of Top One-Hundred classics such as The Los Angeles Country Club and Stanford Golf Club.

Alternatively, some sites can be greatly improved with complete redesign. A case in point is the Tony Lema Course at Monarch Bay, where we were fortunate to have the opportunity to transform an unremarkable municipal course into a breathtaking seaside links.

We also act as the Architect of Record to assist clubs with Master Planning and implementation of golf course improvements.
